“One Nation Under God”
Our featured speaker at the “One Nation Under God”
luncheon, Justice Kerry Fitzgerald, 5th District Court
of Appeals, spoke on the importance and value of God,
country and freedom. We had a wonderful turn-out for
the event. Our thanks goes out to Shirley McGuire for
putting together such an informative program and
special thanks goes to Bev McNamara for providing the
room with very festive and patriotic balloon
decorations through out the room. Our very own club
members; Jeff Muessig, Lance Luna and Jeff Tokar, sang
beautifully for our enjoyment with the Garland Fire
Department Honor Guard presenting and posting our
colors and Cub Scout Pack 161 leading us in the Pledge
of Allegiance. It was a great event.

“Christmas is for our little miracles!”
How does one measure a miracle?
What kind of gauge does one use?
Should miracles be stupendous and grand,
Breathtaking, enormous, and huge?
Must the colors be vivid and shockingly bright?
What volume of sound should one hear?
Are miracles crafted of pure solid gold,
Or fashioned of jewels so dear?
How will I know if I've seen one?
Will there be angels flying around?
Will the sun be brilliantly shining?
Will I see stars and a moon beaming down?
Where do I look for my miracle?
How will I know one is near?
A simple answer then came to me,
"Dear child, just look in a mirror."
