Boots 'n Bar-B-Q Event

9-16-03

“WE WANT YOU!”

October 25th – “Boots ‘N B-B-Q”

We are heading for the final 38 day count down for our BIG event….

Is everyone out there looking for sponsors, donation items, raffle ticket sales? It’s important for each of us to step up and help to make this event a great time. So much has already been done but there is still so much more to do.

Please step up and help. We need you to get ready to party!

NATIONAL DAY OF SERVICE PROJECT

It’s a PERFECT FIT!
Shoes. Boots. Shoes. Boots. Shoes. Boots
All guests attending Noon Exchange’s BOOTS ‘N BAR-B-Q event, Saturday, October 25, 2003, this year are asked to bring a pair of NEW SHOES for children. These shoes will be donated to the SHOES FOR ORPHAN SOULS program of Buckner Baptist Benevolences who distributes the shoes internationally & locally to children in desperate need of shoes.
Sizes: 0 – 18 with most urgent need for sizes 3-6 in both girls & boys styles. All styles of shoes accepted – but warm shoes or boots greatly needed. Also accept new socks & shoelaces. Buckner suggests that you make this a family event by placing a family photo & note in the shoe box to the child who will be receiving the gift. Please go to the Buckner website for information about this program and the heartwarming stories related to its mission. www.buckner.org
Let’s all participate and make this project a giant success!

REMEMBERING “9-11”

“Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings but they cannot touch the foundations of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.”

THANKS BUNCHES AND BUNCHES!
“GIVE A KID A FLAG TO WAVE”

If you missed the Labor Day Parade, you missed lots of fun. A great big thank you goes to David Weeks for putting together the GAKAFTW project. He did an excellent job. Also thanks to Don Tinius for getting the fire engine. It was awesome. We had about 25 Exchangites brave the wet weather and give out flags. It was wet, but it was fun.
