GIVEAKIDAFLAGTOWAVE
Please join us on September 1st for the Labor Day
Parade. All volunteers should wear their Noon Exchange
Shirt or a patriotic theme shirt. We will meet at the
Park-N-Ride at 5th and Walnut at least 30 minutes
prior to the parade beginning. The parade will begin
at 9:00 a.m. We will be leading the parade again this
year to pass out flags. No children under 12 can walk
with the group to pass out flags due to the length of
the walk and the concern for the children. However,
they can sit in the back of the truck to hand flags
out to the walkers.
Thanking you in advance for your support!

October 25th – Yes, it is true. We can
do two things at once. In case you are not aware, the
Boots ‘N Bar-B-Q event is being held the same day as the
National Day of Service. In order to participate in
serving our community and raise money for the club’s
charity’s, we will be supporting a shoe drive for the
Buckner Children’s Home. If you would like to
participate in this wonderful event, please bring a pair
of NEW shoes to the Boots ‘N Bar-B-Q event. We will be
collecting all new shoes and donating them to the
Buckner Children’s Home. If you have questions regarding
this event, please contact Jan Furtick, Fund Raising
Chairman.

Child Protective Services
Help! Noon Exchange Club currently supports Child
Protective Services Unit 18 in Garland. This department
handles a large number of cases involving the children
in the Garland community. Last year Garland CPS had
1,173 referrals to them; 1,022 CPS investigations, 43
children removed from their unsafe home and 81 children
placed in state custody. It’s important this unit stays
in Garland to assist our children. They are having to
leave their location by November 1st. They are looking
for 1,200 s/f of space. If you can help, please email
Debbie DeCicco at Debbie.DeCicco@tdprs.state.tx.us.
